Sistah’s Making a Change is a health and wellness program sponsored by the Ashe Cultural Arts Center. This Monday the group (about 25 women) was practicing and learning a new dance for an upcoming second line. Additionally, the program sponsors filed trips such as last weeks visit to a jazz club off Bourbon Street. A thought about the name of the program: The first word “Sistah’s” is a possessive noun, implying ownership of the following part of the title “Making a Change.” Kudos to whomever came up with it as it translates effectively to the participant’s ownership of their transformations.
